Washbattle Mill Barns are two detached, recently converted stone barns situated in an idyllic valley on the River Tone near Wiveliscombe and only 30 minutes drive from the M5, Taunton junction, and the North Somerset coast. The site is located in a hamlet mid way between the villages of Huish Champflower and Langley Marsh in the depths of the unspoilt countryside of West Somerset.

The Barns are situated in their own one and a half acre nature conservation site bounded by the River Tone and featuring a 100 foot pond. Both barns sleep 4 people, Mill Barn having two bedrooms and The Old Dairy, one large family bedroom. They make an ideal secluded getaway and can be rented for long weekends or longer holidays. Washbattle Mill Barns provide an opportunity for two family groups to be together but in separate very well appointed and character properties.

The Barns have been imaginatively converted to the highest standard and both feature large stone built conservatories which overlook the site. There is a large car parking area and shared laundry facilities.

About 3 miles away, the small town of Wiveliscombe, is at the foot of the Brendon Hills, and is the gateway to Exmoor National Park. With two successful local breweries, three pubs, a Cafe /Bistro, a range of interesting shops, and a heated outdoor swimming pool for summer swimming, Wiveliscombe is the perfect place to relax and contemplate the next walking or cycling expedition!

There are numerous walks and bridalways in the area, although most of the paths and roads climb steeply out of the valley, you can take the flatter pathways following the river. Alternatively, Exmoor National Park, and the Brendon and Quantock Hills are a short drive away. If you prefer sea air, the seaside resorts of North Somerset and surfing beaches of North Devon can be reached via scenic drives over these hills.

Keen fishermen will appreciate the fishing on the banks of the River Tone, the brown trout can be spied from the windows of The Old Dairy. For more extensive fishing waters , Wimbleball Lake, Clatworthy Reservoir and Langford Lakes are all within an easy drive. Wimbleball Lake is also home to a flourishing sailing club.
